“I like to define myself a skilled craftsman.”

Artist
Engraver

“When I work I feel like doing magic. Mine is a job dating back to 1500 A.C. and when I do it I feel like turning back the clock through history to present days.”

Michele Garbin is an artist engraver and he has got the passion of seizing the intrinsic beauty and the sculptured qualities of the metal using the chisel and embossing technique. Thanks to his particular artistic sensitivity his hand-decorated silverware works are a perfect merger of modern art with antique works. His interpretation of antique portraits of famous painters is the evidence of his strong artistic qualities and of his talent. His skills as master engraver, associated with his artistic energy and his obsessive attention to details make his works unique collector’s items. In his teens Michele attended the School for Goldsmith and Silversmith in Milan and he was awarded with the prize Annibale Cuzi by the Association of Goldsmiths of Lombardy Region. He carried on with the study of the art of engraving at the best silversmith’s workshops in Milan (Mazzucato and Coppola are among them) and the study of sculpture at some of the important masters of the sector (Sergio Tapia Radic, Laura Branca are among them).

Art Works

“Silver is a very malleable metal with a special brightness. I consider it LUNAR and MAGIC.”

An example of Michele’s precision and artistic talent is the creation of art subjects. His deep passion appears in his modern interpretation of famous portraits of historical painters. Every single work is hand-embossed and chiselled, refined with 24k gold coating, decorated with colored glaze and precious stones. Thanks to his long experience, Michele proposes silver and gold art objects and objects of furniture created not only taking into account the customer’s requirements, but also the background where they are used. Each item is unique thanks to the craftsmanship carred out personally by Michele.

Makes wishes
come true

“Each work is a really thrilling challenge. It is a challenge with myself when I acknowledge the sophistication of the work and the excitement of being able to create a unique item which meets the desires of whom wished it.”

What is cool in wishes is the chance of not setting boundaries and Michele, thanks to his artistic skills, likes making all your wishes true. The works are accomplished in the image and likeliness of whom requires them, and they become unique items and valuable pieces not only for the use of precious materials, but also for the uniqueness of their creation. Michele is equal to a painter able to reproduce any desire on precious materials. Your portrait, the image of a dear place or any object you desire can be performed by him on a plate made of precious materials such as gold, silver, rame, brass and embellished with precious stones, arabesques, adorned items.
